Personally I don't like this change since 95%+ of my driving is in familiar territory where I don't need or care about looking at the Nav map, but I like to keep the rear camera view active always while driving, as additional blind spot check. So, higher priority to Nav map, whether you like it or not, it seems with 2022.24.5

Before this update you could pull the rear camera view upwards and partially obscure the detailed nav directions list but you can't do that any more - obscuring the nav directions list wasn't a big problem because you'd still get the upcoming nav route display on the separate instrument cluster.

Didn't measure it, but just eyeballing it seems about twice the nav map now visible above the camera than beforeĪlso, if a Nav session is active, now with 2022.24.5 the rear camera view is pushed even further down the 17" screen to leave the full nav directions list exposed. Now with 2022.24.5 the top of the rear camera view is maybe about 3" below the top of the screen, exposing more of the Nav map than before. Prior to this update, the top of the rear camera view would be approx 1.5" or so below the top of the screen (ie you could see about 1.5" of the top of the Nav map). suitable Thunderbolt drives on the market. if the speed/spec is better via Thunderbolt (over USB) for this scenario/iMac.

I don't know if the aspect ratio has changed but the camera view is now forced to stay lower down on the vertical 17" screen, with no way to move it higher like it was before. Looking around, the vast majority of solid state external drives appear to be USB - which may be close to Thunderbolt speeds in later machines, but from what I can tell MUCH slower in late 2012 spec. But keep in mind that it's roughly twice as expensive as the extreme pro, which is twice the proce of the extreme. Given the use case I have I should probably get me a thunderbolt 3 drive for external windows 10. It's about fast enough to be usable but no where near fast as the internal drive which I about 2700-3000 MB/s.

I have a SanDisk extreme pro that can write and read at about 900-1000 MB/s and I have windows 10 installed on it, and use that for booting and using windows 10. These are all fast enough for backup and general data storage. I have a g drive and SanDisk extreme external USb-C and they both get about 600 MB/s write and read.
The x400 is an old drive I had lying around, so all I had.
